Privacy Policy

1. Information we collect and how we use it

• Location (approximate or precise): Only when you tap a "near me" / locate action and grant permission, the app or website uses your device's approximate or precise location to show nearby fuel stations and prices. Your location is used for that request only and is not stored on our servers or linked to you. If you turn on optional price alerts, only the alert area you choose (an approximate area, region/radius, or the suburb/postcode you enter) is saved with your alert settings.
• Web push token (device identifier) for optional price alerts: If you turn on price alerts, your browser or device issues a push subscription token (via Google/Chrome push services), which is a device identifier. We store it with your alert settings (fuel type, alert area, price threshold, favourite stations) solely to send the alerts you asked for (at most two per day). It is deleted when you turn alerts off or the subscription expires. You can also block notifications at any time in your device settings.
• Diagnostics and analytics: Like most online services, our servers and our hosting/network providers (Hostinger and Cloudflare) automatically record technical data such as IP address, device/browser type, pages requested, timestamps and error/crash information. We use this only to operate, secure, debug and improve the Service and to measure aggregate usage. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-app tracking SDKs.
• Price reports (optional): If you submit a fuel price correction, we store the station, the reported price and any details you provide.

2. No accounts required, no ads, no selling of data

• The app does not require you to create an account, and you can use all of its features without signing in. (An optional sign-in on the website is used for site administration; if one is created we store the email address and display name provided.)
• The Service does not show advertising.
• We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.

3. Sharing

We share data only with service providers who help us run the Service (hosting: Hostinger; network/security: Cloudflare; push delivery: Google/Chrome push services), under their own privacy and security obligations, or where required by law. Fuel prices are retrieved from government and open data sources; no personal information is sent to them.

4. Data retention

• Location used for nearby prices: not stored.
• Push token and alert settings: kept while alerts are on; deleted when you turn alerts off or the subscription expires or becomes invalid.
• Diagnostics/server logs: kept only for a limited period needed for security and troubleshooting, then deleted or aggregated.
• Price reports: may be kept to maintain price history.

5. Your choices, access and deletion

You can withdraw location permission or block notifications at any time in your device or browser settings, and you can turn price alerts off in the app (which deletes your push token and alert settings). To request access to, correction of or deletion of any personal information we hold, email [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days. Australian residents have rights under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), and you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au) if you are not satisfied with our response.

6. Security

Data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored with reasonable technical and organisational safeguards. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

7. Children

The Service is a general-audience fuel price tool and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The effective date above shows when it was last changed; material changes will be noted on this page.
